There is a small learning curve involved when you purchase a Sony DVD camcorder. You will need to learn how to switch the modes and if you do not read the user's manual, things will turn out like you expect them to the first time you use it. Other than that small inconvenience, the optics on a Sony DVD camcorder are excellent, digital zoom is great (higher zoom levels will make you lose picture quality), and the camcorder is very solid.
You may want to buy a memory stick, high quality DVDs, and a loger lasting battery for the Sony DVD Camcorder.
