The Canon ZR800 MiniDV camcorder has the facilities on t for an external microphone. You should be aware that many Canon ZR800 camcorder users have complained about a noise that they can hear coming from the camcorder, and yes you can hear a noise...if you put your ear up against the camcorder, but you will notice no noise on your movie clips when played back on your PC.
You can interconnect this camcorder and captur movie clips to your PC, but (the big BUT), you will need a Firewire card and the firewire cable, bcause you cannot easily hook this camcorder up through your USB port on your PC.
